Sardia Robinson – Director

Sardia Robinson is a Jamaican-born actress, writer, director, producer, and storyteller whose work explores themes of identity, immigration, resilience, and the transformative power of storytelling. Raised in Jamaica before immigrating to the United States as a teenager, Robinson draws from her lived experiences to create authentic, emotionally resonant stories that celebrate the strength of underrepresented voices.

A graduate of Columbia College Chicago with a degree in Theater, Robinson has built a multifaceted career spanning stage, film, and television. Her acclaimed autobiographical one-woman show, From a Yardie to a Yankee, earned multiple honors, including BroadwayWorld's Best Solo Production Award and the Innovative Woman in Theatre Award. The production has been performed across the United States and the Caribbean, inspiring audiences with its heartfelt exploration of culture, family, and belonging.

Adapted from her award-winning stage production, the film reflects her commitment to telling deeply personal stories that connect with universal human experiences.
